Workshops and teaching

Workshops, Classes & Artist-Led Learning

KBarnsley is a practising artist, qualified secondary Art, Design and photography teacher, and experienced workshop leader. Alongside her studio practice, she teaches Fine Art across Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level, bringing extensive experience of working with both young people and adult learners.

Drawing on her contemporary figurative painting practice, she delivers engaging workshops in expressive oil painting, palette knife techniques, colour mixing, and dynamic figure-based artwork inspired by movement, sport, and the human form. Sessions can be tailored to a wide range of ages, abilities, and settings, from school workshops and community events to adult classes and artist-led masterclasses. Recent collaborations include delivering adult oil painting workshops with Lakeside Arts, part of Nottingham University, where participants explore expressive palette knife painting and create vibrant figurative artworks inspired by sport and movement.
